Torment by Lauren Kate

I have just finished reading Torment by lauren kate, this is the second novel in the addictive fallen series. Once i had started reading it i didnt stop until i had finished it! It took Lucinda an eternity to find her beloved angel, Daniel. But he waited for her. Now they are forced apart again, to protect Luce form the outcasts- Immortals who want her dead.During their seperation luce learns about her mysterious past lives spent with daniel, Finding him, falling devestatingly in love with him and then bursting into flames because her mortal body cannot handle the amount of love and history between them. But the more she discovers , the more she suspects that daniel is hiding something. What if daniels version of the past isnt true? Is it really their destiny to be toghether? Or is luce actually meant to be with someone else?
Torment picks up where Fallen left off. Daniel and Cam are working together and implementing a truce in order to keep Luce safe for 18 days. Daniel takes Luce to a boarding school in California that is NOTHING like Sword & Cross. Shoreline is sunny, warm, and lush. It is a school for Nephilim and she is a bit of a celebrity. She easily makes friends and fits right in. Despite fitting in and making new friends, however, Luce is separated from Daniel for the 18 days and she misses him desperately, struggling against the rules that he puts on her. She really comes into her own and questions this love that is ‘destined’ and chafes at some of the things Daniel does and says – like saying that she has to stay on campus, or expecting her to follow his word 100% for her own safety.

As new characters were introduced and as you learned more about them, I grew to love them. Luce was still someone I could admire. She really grew into herself and was forced to face some hard truths. Daniel was off being the protective brooding angel. The setting was so pretty and beautifully described. I also loved that there was never a lull in the plot.I would give this book a 5* Rating And I would strongly reccomend this book to anyone. I cannot wait for the third book in the series , Passion.I have completley fallen in love with this series!
